Summary: This was an interdisciplinary lesson that focused on combining art and ELA.  Students understood how the elements of art and principles of design can be used to express who they are.  Students also explored and discussed the importance of autobiographies and discovered ways in which to communicate their ideas. They learned how to create a book using construction paper, collage and yarn.  ​

They learned how logos may evolve over time and affect the way in which we view a product.  Students explored the concept of branding and created a new logo for their village of Freeport, NY.​
